China and India are gearing up for the 25th round of Special Representatives’ Talks on their long-standing Boundary Question. This development comes as both nations continue to engage in dialogue over border-related matters, working to implement the agreements reached in their previous discussions. The Chinese Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson, Guo Jiakun, shared these updates during a routine press briefing on Tuesday, emphasizing the ongoing communication between the two countries.
In a related diplomatic visit, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is currently in New Delhi. He is there to participate in the 16th Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisors and High Representatives on National Security. During his time in India, Wang met with Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, further highlighting the collaborative efforts between the two nations.
Guo Jiakun provided assurances that the overall situation along the China-India border remains stable, with effective communication channels in place. This stability is crucial as both nations strive to maintain peace along their shared frontier. The ongoing dialogue is part of a broader effort to manage border issues and uphold the consensus achieved during the last round of boundary talks.
The upcoming discussions are anticipated to build upon previous agreements, continuing the work towards resolving border tensions. Both China and India appear committed to maintaining diplomatic channels open to ensure peace and stability along their boundary, a sensitive area that has historically been a source of friction between the two countries.
