Iran Threatens Gulf Nations with Retaliation for Potential US Strikes

Date:

Iran has issued a stark warning to Gulf states, indicating that any new military strike by the United States on Iranian territory would provoke retaliation against critical energy infrastructure throughout the Gulf. This message was conveyed during discussions reportedly held by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi with high-ranking officials from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, and Pakistan. Iran urged these regional allies to dissuade Washington from further military action, emphasizing that any attack would prompt a response targeting both U.S. assets and essential energy facilities in the region.

The warning comes in the wake of U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent threats aimed at Iran’s energy infrastructure. While Iran has expressed a preference for diplomatic solutions, it has made clear its readiness to retaliate if attacked. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has reportedly advised the United States to focus on negotiations to prevent an escalation of the conflict, while asserting its own commitment to defending its territory if necessary.

Iran’s potential retaliatory measures could involve targeting vital oil facilities, refineries, power grids, water infrastructure, transport networks, and oil fields should another U.S. military strike occur. This threat underscores growing fears that renewed hostilities could lead to disruptions in Gulf energy supplies and heighten instability in the region.

Regional leaders are continuing to advocate for diplomatic efforts, emphasizing the need to avert a broader conflict that holds the potential to impact global energy markets. The situation remains tense, with all parties aware of the potential consequences of any military escalation.
