Efficient Power Conversion (EPC) is ramping up production of its new 100 V integrated gallium nitride (GaN) power-stage IC family, which includes the EPC23108, EPC23109, EPC23110, and EPC23111 models. These ePower™ Stage ICs are tailored for high-performance motion-control applications, integrating high-side and low-side eGaN® FETs, gate drivers, and level-shifting circuits into compact and thermally efficient QFN packages. With the ability to operate up to 100 V and current ratings of 35 A and 20 A, these devices aim to enhance power density and efficiency while streamlining system design.
The product line offers features such as fast fault shutdown, safe gate control during power loss, and continuous operation with a 100% duty cycle. For multi-axis motor-control needs, single-input PWM options are also available. Complementing these power-stage ICs, EPC has introduced the EPC91128, EPC91129, EPC91130, and EPC91131 three-phase BLDC motor-drive evaluation boards. These platforms, built around the new ICs, come equipped with gate drivers, current and voltage sensing, housekeeping power supplies, as well as temperature monitoring and protection functions.
EPC’s new devices are distributed globally through partners like Digi-Key and Mouser. They are intended for use in applications such as humanoid robots, drones, industrial motor drives, medical equipment, synchronous rectification, and high-density DC-DC converters. Pricing for the EPC23108 and EPC23109 is set at $3.70 each, while the EPC23110 and EPC23111 are available for $2.47 each, based on orders of 3,000 units. Meanwhile, the EPC91128 and EPC91129 evaluation boards are each priced at $640, with the EPC91130 and EPC91131 boards available for $630 each.
In addition to the new product offerings, EPC is publishing a technical white paper in both English and Chinese. This document will delve into the architecture, design considerations, and evaluation platforms pertinent to the newly released integrated GaN power-stage ICs. This initiative further underscores EPC’s commitment to advancing GaN-based power solutions for diverse applications, including DC-DC converters, lidar, motor drives, and more.
Founded in 2007, Efficient Power Conversion (EPC) specializes in enhancement-mode gallium nitride (eGaN®) power devices and integrated circuits.
