China is prepared to enhance its strategic communication and practical cooperation with Russia, according to statements made during the visit of Nikolai Patrushev, Russian Presidential Aide and Chairman of Russia’s Maritime Board. This visit underscores the strengthening of ties between the two nations, as highlighted by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning, who emphasized the opportunity to deepen bilateral relations and further their comprehensive strategic partnership.

Mao Ning noted that China and Russia have fortified their relationship in recent years through increased political trust, closer strategic coordination, and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation. She described the partnership as a model of collaboration between major neighboring powers. Patrushev’s visit, his first to China in his role as Chairman of Russia’s Maritime Board, is set to focus on discussions about bilateral relations and maritime cooperation.

During the visit, Patrushev is expected to meet with Chinese officials, including Wang Yi, a prominent member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs. The talks are anticipated to explore opportunities to strengthen coordination and advance shared interests between the two countries.

The visit highlights the ongoing efforts by China and Russia to support the development of their partnership, with both sides expressing a commitment to working together closely. The focus on maritime cooperation is particularly significant, as it represents an area where both countries aim to expand their collaborative efforts.
