Loong Air has introduced a new direct flight service connecting Chengdu Tianfu International Airport in China with Taichung International Airport in Taiwan. This new route marks the airline’s inaugural cross-strait service, aiming to enhance travel links between southwestern China and central Taiwan.
The flight path will be operational twice weekly, with scheduled flights departing every Tuesday and Saturday. By offering this new service, Loong Air is set to improve the ease of travel between these two regions, catering to both business and leisure travelers looking for direct connectivity.
With the launch of the Chengdu route, Taichung International Airport has expanded its network to include 31 operational or announced routes. These comprise 20 regular services and 11 charter routes, reflecting a growing emphasis on enhancing Taiwan’s international travel connections.
The addition of this route also signifies Chengdu joining the ranks of Nanjing and Qingdao as scheduled cross-strait destinations currently accessible from Taichung Airport. This expansion underscores the increasing travel demand and strategic importance of linking Taiwan with major cities in mainland China.
