2025 Audi S3 Sportback Levels Up with Sharper Handling and More Power

Date:

Long overshadowed by its siblings, the 2025 Audi S3 Sportback finally steps into the spotlight — and it’s brought reinforcements. For years, the S3 has played the role of the middle child in Audi’s performance lineup, lacking the raw agility of the VW Golf R and the blistering charisma of the RS3. But not anymore.
This year’s S3 comes armed with a critical upgrade: an active rear differential that radically transforms how it handles corners. It’s no longer just competent — it’s compelling.
While last year’s S3 felt safe and slightly uninspiring when pushed hard, the new model is far more dynamic. Previously, enthusiastic driving would lead to safe understeer and minimal excitement. Now, the S3 actively sends torque to the outside rear wheel during cornering, helping rotate the car and allowing for earlier throttle application with less steering input. The result? Sharper, more engaging cornering and a noticeably more playful attitude.
In short, Audi has finally given the S3 the tools it needs to fight back — and it’s never been more fun to drive.
